Theocracy is a form of government in which a god or deity is recognized as the state's supreme civil ruler, or in a broader sense, a form of government in which a state is governed by immediate divine guidance or by officials who are regarded as divinely guided. An example of this would be a monarchy.
A strength of this is the befit of the people of Muslim belief because they go by there gods laws such as no drinking and homosexuality.
A weakness of this would be that you might be force to believe in a religion that you don't support.

Totalitarianism is when a party/faction realizes ways to absolute power over the state and takes command for a specific purpose. Italian dictator Benito Mussolini coined the term totalitario in the early 1920s to describe Italy in its new form. By the beginning of World War II, “totalitarian” had become known as an absolute and oppressive single-party government. Some goods that can come out of it is since it is only 1 party it can stabilize a chaotic situation, but there is a lot more bad. Totalitarianism is bad in many more ways. Even though it helps stabilize the government in shaky situations it poses total control under the certain faction. The state is now being controlled by collective rule that are always focused on mostly one goal, and therefor they can use propaganda to further they’re rule and further the funding for whatever they want and eventually give the state nothing but imbalance and usually destruction.

Oligarchy Response

1.) WHAT IS IT? HOW DOES IT WORK?

An Oligarchy is, simply put, a government run by those from a specific group/clique that are normally more dominant or powerful. Because not everyone is creme-of-the-crop or meet the high standards set, an Oligarchy is one ruled by few and as such, pretty small. An example, (only sliiighhtttly controversial) is a Gov't run by the rich/wealthy.

2.) STRENGTHS:

The strengths in having such an exclusively setup government are as followed. With such a specific group of people, normally the more privileged, it presents a "better" opportunity for those they rule. The people running an Oligarchy seem to think that because they are at such a high advantage in life with all the classy-upbringings, money, opportunities etc. that they deserve and are more fit to run a government then those lesser than them. Yet, just because you might have gone to a more elite school, or are more financially sound than some others, are you really better? Perhaps you failed that school or don't know how to spend your money wisely or effectively. Due to their "pure" breeding, and high class they have had more access towards education and opportunities though. They were given the chance to succeed and there is a higher chance that they are smarter, academically, and with their money they have less boundaries as to what they can do. With an oligarchy it's more founded on everything that's not skin deep. A great education and a large financial sum are HELPFUL in a government, but does it shape or SHOULD it shape it? The less...elite might have better morals or ideas as to how the government should function. Although, theirs might be based on a lower-scale due to the opportunities given academically. The benefits of living under an Oligarchy as a citizen are the reassurance that you're being run by a very powerful, highly educated group of people.

3.) WEAKNESSES:

Weaknesses in an Oligarchy are that with such a small, specific group of people they could easily become arrogant, self-absorbed, and get power happy. If they are the only ones in control then there really isn't any room for a balance. In America, for example, we have a Republican side & a Democratic side to even each other out. So that the Government isn’t overwhelmingly run in just one direction, adding in some differences to counterbalance it are healthy. With an Oligarchy there isn’t any room for changes. It would all go in one direction with no one to exactly protest because they’re all on the same side. A form of Government built and run simple on the foundation/background of those running it is so risky. Although a higher education and a more privileged upbringing are positive additions to a government, it should not be the foundation. Many great leaders have come from a lesser background. This does NOT make them lesser of a person.

The setup and organization appeals to my OCD-esc views & it's easy to find information on. The features/subjects/sections it covers is very helpful as well. It seems to go beyond what an average website would where you might not be able to find ALL information desired on that one alone.

First off, it's cute. So there. My favorite part of the website has to be the moveable time line that gives you important events/facts from that particular time. It's easily set up which is just a plus & because I'm used to BBC & consider them a reliable source am I at ease with how factually correct the information is.

3.) http://www.historyforkids.org/learn/greeks/ My third choice is similar to the first two because in my opinion, presentation & simple navigation are important on a website. All three possess those two qualities. I like how should I click on "Mythology" it takes me into more categories ranging from important figures, wars, events, etc.

In the times before Athens there must have been quite a barbaric state of living. As time goes by, people evolve in many ways. Although, Herodotus states the Pelasgi were barbaric people, it seems their evolution and civilized ways were somewhat stunted. Herodotus somewhat favored the Athenians as through his words he hinted their superiority, ability to represent culture, and how civilized they always were.

A mixture of both agreement & disagreement towards Mr. Campbell’s statements it is believed that yes, the world seems dreadfully drained of spiritual-moral-values and in a way some people may feel distant or impotent, but only because much of the time that is what society leads you to believe. Honestly, how many people truly, 100% realize that one person CAN make a difference? That they, alone, can change so much? If anything, it’s not necessarily the impotence people feel, but more-so the lack of confidence they have within themselves. Without the belief that they can accomplish something great, on any level on that scale, does their own insecure outlook on themselves and what they can do with their lives bring them down. You are your own worst enemy. On the completely different side, some people appear to feel overly powerful and take advantage of it in a less-than positive manner. They normally wind up with an extraordinarily large head, and an ego to match. Is it bad that they have confidence in themselves and want to make a change in the world? No. But there is a balance that needs to be strived for and attained. People always take the extremes in life. You’re either on one side or the other. No happy medium; no in between. In the medieval or ancient times people were more on the confident side of the scale, they needed to be. Without having the confidence in knowing that you could and would fight for your country, family, and honor, you didn’t get too far in life. Nowadays, it’s more about how intelligent and compassionate you are versus how well you can physically fight. Yet, with a more secure hold of your emotions, opinions, and outlooks on yourself and your world, does your human side shine through. Whereas in the ancient times the majority of the people were more robotic, and didn’t let their true emotions come out in the fear of disgracing someone by their different thoughts or actions. Insecurities and confidence come on different levels for us all. Due to society are they adjusted a bit beyond the norm. For example: Hero Discussion. Hector is more of a modern-day hero, whereas Achilles represents the society in that time very well. Although one seemed to have more of a grasp on the future and how morals should be adjusted alongside the important things in life, the other knew what was happening in the now and went with the flow. It shows a good example of the evolution of man kind in a more mental way.

Hero

Anybody who will risk there life for someone else to is considered a hero. Like MLK he knew at some time that he was going to get assassinated for what he believed in. Another example is the soldiers in Iraq fighting for the Americans they are putting there self's in jeopardy for us. To me they are considered heroes.

1. Yes, people do feel out of touch, lifeless, and most of all powerless. I’ve had some personal experiences that lead to each of these terrible feelings. The first, out of touch, is when I felt like i was shunned from the world and everyone in it, no one would talk to me, and I couldn’t get their attention. At the same place I could not keep up with anything we were working on and I felt if I could not keep up then I would fail and school would be pointless and the people would only shun me more. I had no power in any way and I felt lifeless, like no matter what I did no one even noticed me, and I felt like if I died no one would even notice, but I realized that i’m not lifeless and Im not ignored so life turned around and I became popular and got in touch with everything and everyone.
2. At first, the Athenians were dispersed and very very primitive, but after finding each other, and speaking the same language, the combined and became very advanced very fast, creating town houses and courts, and a central government to form Athens.
