Hercules and Cacus

1. Livy- Lacks characteristics of Hercules and Cacus. Adds in part of the story of Romulus and Remus. Only says Hercules lost some cattle found them with Cacus and killed him. Lacks detail and length of what happened to Hercules and Cacus. Adds to much stuff about Romulis aand Remus.

Vergil- Tells how Hercules killed Cacus by cutting his throat and the other two tell he killed him with a club. He goes into detail about how Hercules kills Caus by saying " Hercules seized him in a knot like clasp, and, clinging, choked him. The eyes squeezed, and the throat drained of blood." Has a huge amount of detail about Cacus and Hercules. Also has a huge amount of detail of the setting and what happened between them. A lot longer than any of the other stories.

Ovid- Starts with Hercules driving his cattle. Goes into detail of what happened with both Cacus and Hercues when Caucus stole his cattle. Talks about how Evander's mother is a goddess, and her name is January. Says Hercules killed him with a three knotted club.
